Be a current ILEETA member, and a member in good standing prior to January 1 of the year prior to the conference being applied for (e.g. prior to January 1, 2009, when applying for the April, 2010, conference).
Include a cover letter stating in detail their need to attend the conference, why the applicant should be chosen, and how being selected will benefit the applicant and the applicant’s agency.
Be employed full time by a municipal, county, state or federal law enforcement agency or a publicly funded law enforcement training institution, and have been so employed for a minimum of two years.
Be assigned to training duties, either full time or part time, as part of their regularly assigned duties.
Include a letter of recommendation from the head of their agency or institution that the institution is unable to fund the ILEETA Conference for the applicant, that the applicant will be allowed the time off, and that the skills or knowledge attained will be used in training agency personnel.
Those who are awarded scholarships will be notified no less than 30 days prior to the ILEETA Conference. |
